Interpreting Technical Guidance for Endoscope Decontamination
This dedicated NHS course has been developed to give endoscopy staff a relevant and useful guide to managing and understanding decontamination. If you would benefit from the opportunity to refresh your knowledge of what the guidelines are, what they mean in practice and how they should influence your decision making then this is the event for you.
If you are unsure of the reasons why your TVC is coming back non-complaint or wish you had a better understanding of how to deal with mycobacterium in your water supply, then this interactive forum will enhance your understanding and help you to end unnecessary shut downs and infections in your endoscopy service. Come together to learn strategies to:
- Benchmark with other NHS services and discover how they respond to alerts and challenges
- Stay up to date with the guidelines, implementing changes clearly and effectively
- Achieve value with a better understanding of repairs and delivering cost-effective change
- Clearly define standards when it comes to signing off on water counts
- Share knowledge amongst a group of supportive like-minded professionals
Previously described as “Very informative and enlightening on what we should be doing!” this unique workshop will illuminate the grey areas for endoscopy decontamination and answer your questions on resolving recurring issues and procedures to follow after non-compliant test results. Take one day out and inform your approach to the technical side of decontamination guidance:
- Standards, management definition and top 10 tips: clarification for the HTM 01-06 guidance
- Examples of initiating events and circumstances: how to decide what raised water counts are acceptable
- Exploring repeatedly raised TVCs and mycobacterium
- Understanding infection incidents and how guidance and legislation helps
This specialised endoscopy decontamination course will provide a useful guide to standards, challenges and technical procedures. Past attendees include:
- Endoscopy Technicians
- Sterile Services Manager & Deputy Manager HSSD
- Decontamination Manager & Endoscopy Decontamination Supervisor
- Clinical Support Worker & Senior Clinical Support Worker
