Benchmark, plan and grow your neonatal outreach service
Created for Neonatal Outreach Teams and community neonatal professionals, this face-to-face forum provides practical, actionable steps to benchmark your neonatal service against the BAPM framework and translate identified gaps into a clear, evidence-based business case.
Through expert presentations, Q&A, interactive discussions and peer insight, you will gain the tools, confidence and practical insight needed to expand your neonatal community service — whether you are developing home oxygen pathways, enhancing tube feeding support, introducing home phototherapy or strengthening governance and data capture.

Sharing a wealth experience
Confirmed speakers to-date:
Katie Gallagher is an NIHR Clinical Lecturer and neonatal nurse with a longstanding interest in enhancing parental engagement in the care of critically unwell babies in neonatal care.
She qualified as a Children’s Nurse with a Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Nottingham in 2003, before specialising as a Qualified in Specialty Neonatal Nurse in 2004 at City University, London. During this time, she worked in several tertiary-level neonatal units, where she developed a strong interest in how healthcare professionals support parents to engage in the care of their critically unwell infants. This interest led to the completion of a PhD in Nursing at the University of Nottingham in 2010, which explored neonatal nurses’ attitudes towards preterm infants.
In 2022, Katie became the first neonatal nurse in the UK to be awarded an HEE NIHR ICA Clinical Lectureship, followed by securing an NIHR RfPB grant in 2024. In recognition of her work supporting the development of neonatal nursing research capacity and capability within neonatal units, she was awarded the UCLH Nursing Excellence Award for Research in 2024.
